The National Fibromyalgia Research Association has been awarded $46,500 to support the Fibromyalgia Assembly sponsored by NFRA at PAINWeek 2007, an American Society of Pain Educators conference to be held September 6-9, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The mission of PAINWeek is to provide a comprehensive and open national forum for primary care practitioners, pain professionals, and pain societies to share their experience, knowledge, and resources with frontline clinicians providing pain management services. PAINWeek is an opportunity for both professional and patient-focused organizations to demonstrate their collective commitment to linking collaborative education with better healthcare outcomes.

The Fibromyalgia Assembly is a concurrently run education session integrated into the national medical conference. The Assembly will provide 4 hours of CME credit on the underlying science, awareness of the disease and key aspects of treating and managing FM. Andrew Holman, MD and Patrick Wood, MD will be the presenters for the general and breakout sessions.

Aventine Healthsciences was a critical partner in our successful efforts to receive grant funding from Eli Lilly to provide the Fibromyalgia Assembly. We are looking forward to a long and creative relationship from Aventine as we develop other physician education programs.
